Aluminum Extrusion Profile Processing Capabilities

Our factory is equipped with 6 extrusion production lines to efficiently manufacture window and door aluminum profiles. We have one anodizing and electrophoresis line, as well as two vertical and two horizontal spraying machines for surface treatment. Additionally, we operate two sandblasting machines and six wood grain transfer printing lines, allowing us to provide a variety of aesthetic finishes for our window profiles. To support our production, we also have furnaces for casting aluminum bars, aging furnaces, annealing furnaces, water cooling treatment equipment, and machining tools, ensuring comprehensive capabilities for high-quality output.

We design and produce custom extrusion dies for window profile systems based on detailed drawings or functional requirements. Our mold shop supports fast tooling development, ensuring dimensional accuracy and efficient transition to mass production. Standard mold sizes are also available for commonly used sliding and swing window profiles.

Our factory operates 6 extrusion presses ranging from 600 to 5000 tons. Smaller presses (600T–800T) are used for producing slim and detailed profiles, often found in lightweight window assemblies. Larger presses (4000T–5000T) are reserved for thick-walled or structurally demanding sections such as main frames or reinforced rails. This capacity allows us to handle both precision and strength-based design requirements.

Aluminum Extrusion Profile Surface Finish

The quality of window aluminum profiles is determined not only by material selection and extrusion precision but also critically by surface treatment. We provide comprehensive surface finishing solutions including anodizing, electrophoresis, powder coating, PVDF fluorocarbon coating, and wood grain finishes.

The aluminum profiles are immersed in an acidic solution and undergo electrolytic oxidation to form an oxide film. Anodizing enhances the corrosion resistance, hardness, and surface smoothness of the aluminum profiles. It can also be used with dyeing agents to achieve different colors.

Aluminium Extrusion Profile Guide

What Is an Aluminium Extrusion Profile?

An aluminum extrusion profile is a shaped product formed by pushing heated aluminum billets through a custom-designed die. The result is a continuous profile with a consistent cross-section, widely used in construction, framing, electronics, transport, and custom assemblies.

Common Types of Extrusion Profiles

  • Solid Profiles: No enclosed voids (e.g., L-shape, T-shape, flat bar).
  • Hollow Profiles: Contain one or more cavities (e.g., tubes, rectangular sections).
  • Semi-Hollow Profiles: Partially enclosed shapes, often with open slots.

Each type is selected based on structural requirements, joining needs, or weight considerations.

Standard Profile Shapes

Standard profiles are produced in large volumes and stocked for immediate use. Examples include:

  • T-Slot (2020, 4040 series) for modular frames
  • U-channels, C-channels for supports and tracks
  • Round, Square, and Rectangular Tubes for general structure

They follow industrial sizing systems and fit common accessories.

Custom Profile Design Considerations

When designing a custom profile, key considerations include:

  • Wall thickness consistency
  • Avoiding undercuts for easy extrusion
  • Tolerances and function-specific geometry
  • Integration of multi-function channels or cooling fins

Well-optimized profiles reduce post-processing, part counts, and weight.

Cross-Section Geometry and Structural Performance

Different cross-sections yield different performance characteristics:

  • Closed shapes offer higher torsional strength
  • Open shapes are easier to machine and assemble
  • Multi-cavity profiles enable integration of cable routing, strength ribs, or sliding elements

Alloys and Tempers Used in Extrusion

Common alloys include:

  • 6063-T5/T6: Excellent surface finish and corrosion resistance
  • 6061-T6: Stronger, suitable for structural applications
  • 6005/6082: Used in transport or mechanical frames

Alloys affect strength, machinability, and finish compatibility.

Length, Tolerance, and Surface Finish Options

  • Standard length: 3–6 meters; custom cutting available
  • Dimensional tolerances: per EN 755 or GB/T standards
  • Surface finishes: Mill, Anodized, Powder Coated, Brushed
  • Post-processing enhances durability and visual quality.

Applications of Aluminium Profiles

  • Architecture: Curtain walls, louvers, sunshades
  • Industry: Machine frames, automation equipment
  • Transport: Bus rails, battery trays, body structures
  • Consumer: Furniture, enclosures, lighting systems

From Profile to Final Part

Aluminum extrusion profiles can be further processed by:

  • CNC machining for holes, threads, cutouts
  • Punching and bending for form and function
  • Welding or assembly into multi-component systems
  • Finishing such as anodizing or powder coating

This creates a complete solution from raw profile to end-use part.

How to Specify an Extrusion Profile

To start a custom project, provide:

  • 2D drawings or 3D models of the cross-section
  • Desired alloy and temper
  • Application requirements (e.g. load, tolerance, finish)
  • Annual quantity and production timeline

Our team can assist with die design, sampling, and optimization.
